Joshua Hay

I'm a fractional COO. I work with a small number of Australian founders at a time, embedding part-time as the operations leadership their business needs to keep growing without breaking.

My background is a little unusual for this work. I came up through computer science and DevOps before moving into operations, and I've spent the last twenty-odd years running digital marketing agencies and scaling a wholesale furniture business into multiple retail locations. The combination — technical depth, financial clarity, and hands-on operations — is where I tend to be most useful.

The engagements that go well are with founders of 10–50 person businesses who want a partner working inside the tent, not a consultant outside it. I take on a handful of clients at a time, and being selective about the right fit is important.
